Description
S3-4151 is a proprietary Hybrid Acrylic single component, high performance, water-based adhesive formulated to bond all types of flooring products and backings, as well as thermoplastics, thermosets, composites, and metals. 4151 adhesive forms resilient, flexible bonds with minimal surface preparation, and is highly water and moisture resistant. 4151 will not emulsify once cleared (flashed) and maintains performance in all environments. Because of its versatility and toughness, installers can increase efficiency and have confidence in the quality of the bonding performance for virtually all finished floors.

Check Moisture Level & pH
- Moisture: Relative Humidity results must be below 99% (ASTM F2170). Calcium chloride test cannot exceed 6.0 lbs. per 1000 sq ft per 24 hours (ASTM F1869).
- pH: Results must range between 6.0 and 11.0 (ASTM F710).
- Temperature: Substrate and adhesive temperature should be within 5 degrees of each other.

Environmental Performance
Rolling Load Performance (ASTM F2753)
Tested at 300 lbs using Hill-Rom gurney wheel. 500 Cycles: .014" indentation. 1000 Cycles: .017" indentation. Slight gloss change to surface; visible indentation to resilient, not adhesive. Specified Load 250 lbs: Residual compression .005".
Surface Preparation
ALL substrates must be clean, sound, and have minimum 250 psi tensile bond strength per ASTM D4541. Concrete must be free from oil, grease, paint, or contaminants.
- Remove all contaminants, unapproved sealers, or existing adhesives.
- Use S3 Unglu'd or mechanical means to remove existing adhesives; finish with S3 Surface Prep EXT.
- For new/high-moisture concrete, apply S3 MoistureShield, MRP, or 125 moisture vapor barriers.
- Fill depressions/cracks with S3 QuikFil or S3 Barrier patching compound (≥3,000 psi).
Suitable Substrates
- Concrete — above, on, or below grade (up to >99% RH with S3 moisture products)
- APA registered plywood underlayment (primed with acrylic primer)
- VCT, terrazzo or polished concrete
- All forms of residential wood decking, raised floors
- Vinyl floor covering over 1 year old with full spread adhesive

Limitations
- Do not use where hydrostatic pressure, excessive moisture, or alkali is present.
- New concrete <24 hours can be treated with S3 MoistureTek. Concrete >24 hours should cure 60–90 days minimum.
- Do not use when temperature is below 42°F (6°C).
- Freeze/thaw stable to 10°F (−12°C) for 5 cycles minimum.
Use only when substrate temperature is between 42°F and 90°F. Adhesive and substrate must be similar temperatures.
