Description
MRP is a specially formulated, water-based barrier primer, with excellent adhesion to both old and GREEN concrete, smooth or S3 Surface Prep EXT™ profile. Designed as a barrier primer over concrete, old adhesive cutback, asphalt-based products, old adhesives, VCT tiles, wood flooring, or other solid surfaces. Provides moisture protection with starting emission rates of ≤14 lbs., reducing to under 3 lbs. per 1000 ft² / 24 hrs. This barrier product can greatly reduce commercial floor preparation, delivering a stable and protective isolation from existing subfloor problems.

Concrete Preparation
ALL substrates must be clean, sound, and have minimum 250 psi tensile bond strength per ASTM D4541. Concrete must be free from oil, grease, paint, or contaminants.
Key Preparation Notes
- Do not apply to concrete with hardeners, curing agents, or densifiers without checking compatibility.
- MRP should not be applied over slabs subject to Hydrostatic Pressure.
- Designed to go over smooth or profiled concrete without shot blasting or scarifying.
- For glossy surfaces, buff with 60–80 grit sandpaper first. Optimal CSP 2-3 (not required).
- Recommended: Use S3 Surface Prep EXT for cleaning and etching substrate.
- Green Concrete: Can be applied direct to GREEN concrete ~24 hours from fresh pour.
Mixing & Application
- Pre-mix the B-side to integrate settled fillers using a plastic paint mixer with high-speed hand drill.
- Once B-side fillers are mixed, slowly add Part A to Part B and continue mixing for 1–2 minutes.
- Distribute into roller pan and roll out immediately with 18" wide roller (3/8 nap).
- Apply at 150 ft²/gallon or 600 ft² per 4-gal kit. Do not stretch beyond this rate.
- Work material into all voids and pinholes. Allow to cure to tack free before recoat.
- Recoat can be applied when tack free, no sooner than 6 hours after first coat.
Installation Substrates
MRP can be applied to: existing VCT/VAT tiles, ceramic tiles, smooth & profiled concrete, green concrete, old floor adhesive & cutback adhesive, cementitious roofing materials, and other clean, sound surfaces. Any loose, flaking, or blistered materials must be scraped, sanded, and/or removed first.
Limitations, Clean Up & Storage
Clean Up: Scouring pad and warm soapy water while wet. Mechanical cleaning or paint stripper if set.
Storage: Closed containers, 50–90°F. Do not freeze.
